In the past few months I have spent most of my time actually creating art using traditional media, namely colored pencils and pastels, and also dabbing a little bit into watercolor territory. Unfortunately unforeseen events come along and cross our path to test our mettle.
I am currently recovering from two surgeries I've had performed in the past 30 days. The first one happened at the end of June to decompress the ulnar nerve of my left arm. Being the control freak that I am, it was extremely frustrating to have to rely on my spouse for everything, from cooking to driving to take a bath... And I had just barely recovered from that first surgery when the second one happened just last week, a knee arthroscopy to repair a torn meniscus. At least now I'm able to scratch myself, although I'm spending quite a bit of time sitting around with my leg elevated and passing the time drawing, reading, and watching movies (thank you Netflix!!!).
As a present to myself to make me forget the discomfort and the pain, I ordered online a whole set of Caran d'Ache Pablo colored pencils, all 126 of them, and I've been dying to try them out. I'll be sure to post any creations I make using those gorgeous colored pencils.
It has certainly been a while...
Holy smokes! I can't believe it's been nearly 5 years since I wrote a journal entry here. Too many things have happened since I had my two surgeries and I've been periodically checking the updates of every one I follow at DA. Lots of great artworks and photos, keep up the excellent work, guys!
I have removed all the photos I had posted in these pages because I discovered that they had been used and/or posted in other websites using someone else's name. I really dislike when people take credit for something they haven't worked, and thus all my photos no longer appear here.
My husband and I will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of our offi
Glad 2B part of this wonderful artist community!
I've visited dA for the better part of one year, but those visits were at best kind of spotty.
This year, 2012, I decided to become a little bit more involved and I subscribed to the RSS feed for the Favorite In The Last 8 Hours. I have been amazed to discover how much wonderful young talent is out there. For this very reason I bit the bullet and decided to become a Premium Member, plus I also took the step to share some of the photos from my 50K+ collection as free stock images. It's a small way to give back to this great art community.
All the images that I upload on this site are in .jpg format. I have retouched the original raw files us
